My primary interest is Artificial Intelligence. By that I roughly mean systems that can efficiently learn a wide variety of useful tasks, drawing from Chollet's "On The Measure of Intelligence" and Hutter's AIXI. Practically, it means consumer device-control applications such as computer-use & programming, autonomous vehicles, and household robotics.
Research / technical areas I find interesting: deep & reinforcement learning, neural network interpretability, non-gradient based methods, evolutionary algorithms, top-down program synthesis, automatic theorem proving, GPU programming, ML compilers, & hardware/software co-design.
I am motivated by the preservation of free personal computing through the singularity (free as in freedom). "This is a long term, this is an infinite game. There is no 2 min, no end of quarter, there is no such thing."
